Shipping FAQ
Domestic U.S. Shipping:
Our preferred carrier is United Parcel Service. UPS will not deliver to P.O. Boxes so please do not ship to P.O. Boxes.
We can also ship by U.S. Postal Service. In that case we will have to send one of our employees to ship your parcel at our local Post Office. We charge a $4 US surcharge for this service above and beyond normal postage and insurance. If you need this type of service you will have contact us by email or phone, as the web site is not set up to calculate all the myriad shipping choices and costs.
Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. can only be done by UPS 2nd Day and Next Day Air or by U.S. Postal Service.
We ship to APO and FPO addresses by U.S. Postal Service.

International Shipping:
PLEASE BE ADVISED WE WILL REQUIRE CREDIT CARD BILLING VERIFICATION
Because our website can not calculate all the possible Shipping Options and costs through out the world, your order may be rejected, come up with either no shipping cost or a very low shipping cost if your postal code is mistaken for a U.S. postal code. You should contact RoboToys to receive a quote of shipping costs to your country.
We can ship by any carrier you wish but because UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc are extremely expensive, our customers generally choose to ship by the U.S. Postal Service Express Mail. There are cheaper Postal Shipping Methods but they are a false saving as they do not provide a tracking number and are slower (more handling by postal workers!)
Please be advised that even shipping by U.S. Postal Service is still expensive. Any order less than $25 US will probably cost more to ship than the item itself. RoboToys is located on the West Coast of the U.S. so all shipments to Europe must cross the continental U.S. then across the Atlantic.
Shipping cost are based on weight. It is more cost effective to order more than one item per order as 4/5 of the cost of shipping is just for that first pound or kilo. Adding items to your order will add cost but only in relatively smaller amounts.

International Credit Cards
In order to prevent the fraudulent use of credit cards and to protect our customers, we use an Address Verification System. This will match up the address on the customer's credit card with the address entered in the order. Most non U.S. credit card companies do not use this service, so your card may be rejected. It is the system imposed by our bank to keep our costs down, there is nothing wrong with your card.
RoboToys reserves the right to verify any credit card billing information whether it is drawn on a U.S., Canadian or International Bank. Please be patient as it is time consuming to verify billing information on a credit card, specially one drawn on an international bank, as we require specific items from each card holder. Sorry, but ALL orders are subject to verification, no exception.
International Orders
You should know that you are responsible for any customs or import fees, if any. We can not calculate those for you, you must check locally.
In the U.S., a merchant can call a card holder's bank and verify the customer's billing address. Due to strict international banking regulations, most non U.S. banks will not give any information on a customer. Therefore we are forced to verify International Orders on our own. See below.
We can take your order directly but are required by our bank to verify international credit cards as there is a lot of fraudulent use. We prefer a scan but will also accept a legible photocopy of the following items:

Write and legibly sign a letter stating you are authorizing RoboToys to charge your credit card for the amount of your order and include your billing address. Please also include the credit card number, expiration date and the 3 or 4 digit number on the back of your card which is printed right after your credit card number.

We will also need a scan or photocopy of the front and back of your card. The signature on the card and your letter should be legible.

The front page of your credit card statement showing your billing address. We will only be able to ship to that address.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBERS IN AN EMAIL - IT IS NOT SECURE!!
You can either fax it to us at the number below or alternately, you can scan the letter and images into .gif or .jpg graphic images and send them to us as email attachments.
Once we have this information on file, if you decide to purchase from us again and use the same card we can simplify the whole process.

We prefer American Express, as this card is easier to verify. We will also accept VISA and MasterCard
American Express is much easier to verify. You can probably call your local AM EX office and have them notate on your account that you are authorizing this purchase. If we can verify this from the US that would be all that is needed.
